Our client is a leading provider of general air freight services globally but specialise in the Defence sector and urgent shipments including AOGs and medical consignments. They seek a commercially astute, self-motivated sales professional with a strong understanding of and good connections within the defence sector. The successful candidate will be a key figure in developing the UK sales strategy and will draw on his/her extensive knowledge of the defence sector to define a market approach in order to gain new business and further develop existing contracts.

You will build and deliver detailed proposals, identifying and developing service solution offerings and business models based on customers' needs, so it goes without saying that you will have high levels of analytical ability along with good communication and inter-personal skills. Pre-requisites for the role will be the ability to make first class presentations at the highest levels, previous experience of handling the whole sales cycle from qualification to implementation and the confidence and credibility to succeed in a very competitive market place.

In essence, we seek a candidate with an inherent passion to succeed - a self winding individual who is able to demonstrate the energy and determination to make things happen. Someone who is driven and focused with the ability to work independently, multi-task under pressure and accommodate changing priorities. Added to this, you will need to be an articulate, persuasive sales professional with an in-depth understanding of logistics concepts backing - up your commercial flair. The role necessitates extensive travel both within the UK and internationally at short notice.
