| EC&I Engineer, Central Branch (South Normanton/Selby) To supply EC&I expertise in the pursuit of Doosan Babcock objectives based in our Central Branch QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Minimum Qualifications: - BSc/BEng in a discipline or full membership of a professional institution (e.g., IET, Control and Instrumentation etc) appropriate to instrumentation selection and installation, process control, ESD or safety related systems, or power electrical systems. HND qualified with a proven track record will be considered. Preferred Qualifications: - Preferred: BSc(Hons)/Beng(hons) plus accredited post graduate training qualifying towards full membership of a professional institution (e.g., IET, Control and Instrumentation etc) appropriate to instrumentation selection and installation, process control, ESD or safety related systems, or power electrical systems. Experience: - Appropriate experience working on relevant thermal steam raising, nuclear or process plant with a proven record of achievement of technically adequate, fit for purpose and cost effective design. This should ideally involve one or more of the following: - Draught Plant, fuel systems (coal, oil, gas, biomass), combustion control, flue gas systems, water treatment including tanks, steam systems, specialist instrumentation (nuclear, video etc) remote handling equipment, electrical interfaces, supplies and distribution to the above. KEY COMPETENCIES Concise and effective assimilation of received oral and written communication Effective implementation of EC&I design engineering tasks, associated documentation and management of time. Effective and proactive working within a multidiscipline team Knowledge and application of the requirements of UK/EU Laws and Regulations applicable to EC&I services and products and adherence to company procedures. Creative, innovative, fit for purpose and cost effective design and engineering solutions Commitment to achievement of goals and targets. KEY DUTIES Execution of allotted EC&I design engineering tasks including input to project cost estimation. Execute tasks in compliance with National/International Legislation, Regulations and Codes, Company Technical Manuals, Technical Standards, Specifications and Business Operating Procedures. Liaise and work proactively with all necessary parties in the execution of allotted tasks. Identification and notification, of deficiencies in and improvements to Products, Business Operating Procedures, Technical Manuals, Technical Standards and Technical Tools Identification and notification, of problems, opportunities and risks Presentation and negotiation of engineering and technical issues KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES To deliver agreed tasks to cost, and program using appropriate procedures and QA. To report to the line/discipline management proactively. |
