An excellent opportunity has arisen with a local recruitment company for a “placement specialist”. This is an expanding company who is looking to take on an additional member of staff due to increased workload in new regions. They recruit into a specialised and niche market sector and their clients are the market leaders in this area.
The main duties of this role are to place applicants into suitable job opportunities within this market sector. Liaising on a daily basis with the clients to ascertain and meet the customer’s recruitment needs.
The 'job process' from start to finish……..
• Find new applicants
• Find new customers
• Match applicants to customer opportunities
• Confirm in writing to customers and applicants the appointments made
• Send to new customers and applicants the appropriate packs of information
• Obtain from applicants copies of relevant documents
• Record all activity
A typical day would be……..
Searching through a list of available vacancies for opportunities for your applicants, matching them to dates on the availability spreadsheet and making the arrangements.
• Negotiating rates of pay
• Asking applicants for availability dates for the coming weeks, and updating their availability
• Sending out new application packs to new enquirer's from advertisement
• To maximise the deployment of available applicants
• To meet applicants expectations for vacancies
• To deal quickly and responsively with changes requested
• To respond to calls from applicants and customers in a timely manner, to exceed their expectations
• To deal with emergencies quickly and calmly
• To meet and satisfy all customers' needs
• To confirm all appointments ensuring minimal no-shows
• To maintain accurate records
• To feed back all information about customers, competitors and applicants to ensure our market intelligence and up to date.

• To be incredibly organised, pay attention to detail
• To be enthusiastic on the telephone

• To be able to spot an opportunity and to investigate further
• To work in our small team, to be willing to "muck in".
