Full Description:
My client in the Public Sector is looking to recruit an ASP.Net Analyst/Programmer for a 12month contract for their site based just on the outskirts of Preston. You will be developing software using SQL Server databases presented through a web browser. Responsibilities of this role will be to develop, test & implement software as part of the team responsible for ICT computer applications. To provide technical consultancy & advise to both customers and ICT Department colleagues. To work within the ITIL processes for Service Support & Service Delivery. To meet required targets for response to and resolution of incidents. Essential knowledge is as follows: Detailed knowledge of MS Windows operating systems (2000/XP/2003 Server). Experience of full lifecycle web application development in ASP.Net & VB.Net using Visual Studio (Design/Build/Test & Support). Experience of IIL configuration/Load Balance Web Servers & Clustered SQL Servers. Knowledge of SQL Server 2000/2005 programming (Schema Design/T-SQL/Stored Procedures & DTS Packages). Experience of .Net Web Services, SOAP & XML Technologies. Desirable experience would be: VB6 application development. Experience of SQL Server database admin & experience of "classic" ASP. Experience of technologies such as CSS, JavaScript, VBScript & DHTML would be an advantage. N/B. My client requires the candidate to have resided within the Lancashire area for a minimum of 5 years OR to have current/previous "security vetting".
