| * Set-up and operate CNC milling machines. Includes knowing machine capabilities & limitations, controller operations, identifying and resolving problems such as unusual sounds or vibrations in the machinery, changes in offset values, and worn cutters/tool inserts. * Use various types of precision measuring tools. * Work with others as part of a team which includes giving and receiving feedback, assisting others in completion of tasks; possess interpersonal, listening, and participation skills. * Understand the application of technical documents/information such as specifications, manufacturing plans and safety information. * Skilled in the selection, set-up and operation of the appropriate tool(s) for a given type of work. Effectively communicate verbal and written information such as tie-ins and job related information. * Operate computing equipment to access job information (e.g., drawings, specifications and other online information systems). * Operate computing equipment to perform job tasks (e.g., upload/download CNC programs). * Knowledge of the coordinate system to identify multiple axes (e.g., X,Y,Z). Use various types of hand tools and/or hand-held power tools. Sequence and layout own work and perform any bench work necessary to finish parts to quality specifications. * Use various jigs and fixtures to orient parts into pre-defined positions for part fabrication and assembly. Knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures and machinability of materials (e.g., cutting speed and feed rates for material being machined). * Determine if own work is complete and correct as specified by instructions, drawings and specifications. * Work alone/independently. Coordinate daily tasks with others to align priorities for smooth operation of joint workloads. * Knowledge of safe working practices, emergency procedures and possible dangerous situations. * Visualize complete machining process in order to create proper and safe setups and machining procedures. * Organize, plan, and sequence work efficiently. |
