Job Description

Our client uses their expertise to create opportunities for their customers to reduce both procurement costs and carbon emissions within today's rapidly changing energy and carbon markets.

They employ over 300 highly skilled staff and manage nearly £1 billion worth of gas and electricity for high profile clients in every major sector across the UK and Europe and have developed one of the most experienced Energy Trading Teams in the energy consultancy Sector.

The team consists of Traders, Market Analysts and a back office function who are responsible for the procurement activity of over £1 Billion of their client’s annual energy costs. Due to their ongoing success and growth, our client is looking to add additional skill and experience to this team.

Within this role you will be required to manage a portfolio of clients and take responsibility for structuring the client supply contract, agreeing and implementing a risk management / procurement strategy with the client and optimising the position accordingly. Your contribution to the continued development of the team, development of new products and solutions and the management of a number of key supplier relationships in relation to procurement activity will also be required.

To be successful in this role, you must have knowledge of the UK wholesale electricity and gas markets, specifically experience of trading activity within these markets. Experience of structuring Supply Agreements and the ability to discuss and develop risk management strategies are essential requirements for this role.

Candidates with experience in negotiating PPA’s with knowledge of products or training experience within European Markets will be of strong interest particularly if they have traded in other commodities such as oil, softs, metals etc. Educated to Degree level or equivalent, you must possess excellent commercial and negotiation skills and have an aptitude for mathematics and statistics.
